Philadelphia Technology Park Expands Global Network Connectivity Infrastructure through Reliance Globalcom
Philadelphia Technology Park and Reliance Globalcom announced that Reliance will be providing PTP’s customers with access to its private, optical network and extensive global fiber footprint for connectivity from Philadelphia to key business hubs around the globe.
This venture will enable Reliance Globalcom to improve the cost efficiency and capacity of IPv6-enabled global connectivity services to the 163 countries and territories covered by its network footprint for Philadelphia Technology Park customers. It will also enable all of Philadelphia Technology Park customers to directly access Reliance Globalcom's advanced VPLS network.
"We recognize that Philadelphia Technology Park already hosts a significant community of multi-national participants from around the world, as well as an increasing number of enterprise and cloud service providers in their data center,” said Ted Raffetto, President of Reliance Globalcom Americas. “Close synergies exist between the sectors that Philadelphia Technology Park serves and our global business. By offering diverse access to our global network, we provide customers with the security of service and expanded geographic reach that businesses increasingly demand."
"Businesses, universities and healthcare providers continue to move mission-critical applications to data centers to handle data intensive applications such as cloud computing, multimedia transfers, data replication and disaster recovery," said Corey Blanton, President of Philadelphia Technology Park. "We are pleased to connect to Reliance Globalcom’s high performance network to offer their bandwidth services and routes to meet our customer’s communications needs."
The Philadelphia Technology Park opened in the Philadelphia-based Navy Yard in September 2010 and has quickly become one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier carrier-neutral data centers.
