Oracle Announces Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Company Directory 9.1 and Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools 8.51

Oracle has announced Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Company Directory 9.1 and availability of Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools 8.51, both part of Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise suite of applications.

PeopleSoft Enterprise Company Directory provides configurable organization visualization and navigation capabilities that allow end users to create a personalized view of their company’s user directory.

The new Company Directory application works through integration with the latest PeopleSoft PeopleTools technologies.

PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.51 introduces new features such as the PeopleSoft Test Framework and continues Oracle’s commitment to protect and extend the value of PeopleSoft implementations.

Features Support HR Management Initiatives and Business Needs

Company Directory includes a worker directory that offers functionality beyond a typical organization chart by supporting worker collaboration and allowing users to initiate employee self-service transactions. Users are able to collaborate with co-workers by selecting their preferred communication such as email or telephony options as well as links to social networks.

PeopleSoft Enterprise Company Directory 9.1 is part of Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management (HCM) 9.1, an end-to-end global solution for managing the full lifecycle of human resources needs, including core human capital management, workforce management, integrated talent management and workforce service delivery.

PeopleSoft Technology Enhancements for an Improved Ownership Experience

This release of PeopleTools introduces the PeopleSoft Test Framework, which helps simplify and reduce the cost of system testing when applying maintenance updates, rolling out new customizations, or performing a system upgrade.

This testing framework is a test automation suite designed specifically for PeopleSoft Enterprise applications that leverages PeopleSoft Enterprise application meta-data and is built with PeopleTools.

The test framework features a simple user interface for creating test cases and storing test data as well as a streamlined test maintenance process. Application changes, such as maintenance packs, customizations, and upgrades, can be correlated with the test library to identify impacted tests. Not only does the PeopleSoft Test Framework indicate those tests that may need to be updated, but it also shows the components of the application that will be most affected by the change.

Additional PeopleTools features and enhancements in this release also include PeopleSoft SmartNavigation, a set of features that include three key improvements:

Hierarchical application data can be incorporated into the menu structure, allowing a user to access application functions directly related to data;

Contextual menus can be associated with data on a PeopleSoft application page, allowing a user to take action directly from data on the screen; and

A user’s search results can be stored directly in the menu structure allowing a user to navigate from one record to another without having to re-execute another search.

PeopleTools 8.51 is available for recent PeopleSoft Enterprise applications as a straightforward Tools-only upgrade, which helps enable customer adoption.
