Dataram First to Expand Opteron
Dataram Corporation, a leading provider of server and workstation memory, today announced a first to market 4GB low profile memory module for the AMD Opteron based Tyan S2885 motherboard. With eight DTM63687A 4GB modules, the dual processor motherboard’s main memory can be expanded to a total of 32GB. Developed and validated in Dataram’s engineering labs, the memory module delivers exceptional system capacity enabling very large data sets to fully reside in main memory. Complex applications for geophysical exploration, simulations, CAE, high-end CAD and EDA tools will run faster, delivering significant productivity gains. The DTM63687A is a registered ECC PC2100 184-pin 4GB low profile DIMM.
The DTM63687A utilizes advanced high-density 1-gigabit drams in 18 externally stacked TSOP-II packages. This low-profile module is only 1.20 inches high, making it ideal for space saving 1U rack-mount chassis and high-density clusters. This module also features full support for “Chipkill” advanced error detection and correction technology.
Dataram manufactures and markets a full line of quality memory modules for the white box and systems integrator community using AMD Opteron and Intel processors. Dataram’s DTM line of products feature qualification and certification by CMTL (Computer Memory Test Labs) (www.cmtlabs.com) to ensure the highest compatibility and reliability in memory. Dataram currently has certified modules ranging in capacities from 256MB to 2GB for Intel and AMD based motherboards. CMTL testing for the DTM63687A is planned for February.
